For the third consecutive year, CoreCivic has been recognized as a 2020 Women on Boards Winning Company, ranking among the top 10 companies in Tennessee for board diversity.
The award honors companies that have at least 20 percent of their board seats held by women. At CoreCivic, women hold 27 percent of the board seats. Donna M. Alvarado, Stacia Hylton and Anne L. Mariucci each hold seats on the 11-member board.
"We're honored to be named among companies that prioritize and celebrate diversity," said CoreCivic Board Member Donna Alvarado. "In the boardroom and at all levels of the company, it's so important to have a variety of perspectives represented, and to ensure those perspectives are heard. That's a key to success in any organization."
In addition to the board of directors, CoreCivic maintains a near-equal ratio of male to female employees across the company.
"At CoreCivic, we understand the value of diversity," said Lucibeth Mayberry, CoreCivic executive vice president of Real Estate. "We realize it makes us stronger and positions us for continued growth and improvement in all areas."
2020 Women on Boards is a nonprofit that works to increase the number of women serving on corporate boards, with a goal of 20 percent or more on every board by the year 2020. Each year the group recognizes companies that are hitting the mark.
CoreCivic is proud to support increased diversity and inclusion throughout our company and around the world.
