At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Stephanie Hays was tasked with the crucial role of keeping CoreCivic staff, facility partners, customers and vendor/contractors updated with the latest information from the CDC and Facility Support Center about the pandemic. She created a designated area where staff and others could go to view the latest information, and as the pandemic continued, Hays assisted with creating communications, enforcing social distancing and other infection control procedures.

“Managing the movement of individuals in and out of the facility, isolating new arrivals until test results come back, and enforcing prevention protocols has been a challenge over the last six months,” Hays said. “But I’m motivated to keep giving my best because the detainees in our care deserve my best. Plus, I work with a great team. It’s an honor to be nominated and even more to be selected.”
