The CoreCivic Foundation proudly supports nonprofits that align with its giving mission: to serve former offenders, victims of crime and abuse, and underserved youth.
One of those nonprofits is Family Reconciliation Center, which provides free overnight rooms to anyone visiting an incarcerated loved one.
"Family visitation is critical for inmate rehabilitation and also for inmates' families' health and well-being," said Anna Masi, Family Reconciliation house manager. "It makes prison time more endurable and it also helps them thrive while they're in the system and serving their time."
Another CoreCivic Foundation charitable partner is Cul2vate, a faith-based nonprofit that grows food for communities in need and local restaurants, while giving work opportunities to former offenders.
"We use the platform – farming and the soil – to get chronically unemployed people back into the workforce," explained Joey Lankford, Cul2vate executive director.
