Inmate Job and Resource Fair Scheduled at Metro Facility

In partnership with Davidson County Sheriff's Department (DCSO), CoreCivic's Metro Davidson County Detention Facility is hosting a reentry resource fair on Wednesday, January 31 starting at 11 am for incarcerated individuals who are preparing for their release and reentry into the free world.

The resource fair will include outside vendors to assist individuals in the following areas for reentry: mental health services, transitional housing assistance, treatment services and halfway houses, job placement and employers, and social services. Additional vendors will provide assistance for female offenders including services for incarcerated parents, domestic violence counselors and addiction treatment (The Next Door.)

Members of the media are invited to attend. For security purposes, this event is not open to the general public. Please email Amanda Gilchrist at Amanda.Gilchrist@corecivic.com before 9 a.m. Wednesday, January 31 if you plan to attend. Who: Interviews will be made available with the following:

  • Harriet Jackson, Discharge Planner
  • Vendor
  • 1-2 inmates participating in reentry resource fair

How: Vendors will be coming in from the following areas to assist with reentry:

  • Mental Health Services
  • Transitional Housing
  • Treatment Services/Halfway Houses
  • Job Placement/Employers
  • Social Services

For females (to be provided in female dorm):

  • Services for incarcerated parents
  • Domestic Violence counselors
  • The Next Door (addictions treatment for women)
