Facility Leader: Christopher J. LaRose, Senior Warden
Christopher J. LaRose was promoted to senior warden at Otay Mesa Detention Center in July 2019, after serving as warden at Northeast Ohio Correctional Center. LaRose brings 20 years of corrections experience with the Ohio Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (ODCR), where he most recently served as warden at two facilities. LaRose started his corrections career in 1996 as a correctional officer at ODRC, where he later served as a lieutenant, captain, administrative captain and deputy warden of Operations. During his tenure, LaRose was also a Special Response Team coordinator, Critical Incident Management coordinator, and certified crisis negotiator. He served for eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve. LaRose holds an associate degree in criminal justice from Belmont Technical College and a bachelor's degree in organizational leadership and development from Wheeling Jesuit University.
