Douglas Fender, Warden

Facility Leader: Douglas Fender, Warden

Douglas Fender was named warden at Northeast Ohio Correctional Center in April 2023. Previously, he was warden at Lake Erie Correctional Institution. Fender joined CoreCivic in 1998 as a correctional officer and worked his way up the ranks to senior correctional officer, assistant shift supervisor, shift supervisor, assistant chief of security, chief of security and assistant warden, before becoming warden at Crossroads Correctional Facility. He then served as warden at formerly CoreCivic-operated Marion County Jail II. Fender has served as a member and commander of the Special Operations Response Team at several CoreCivic facilities.
